Since fresh basil is so abundant this year I thought this would be a great recipe to try!
1/4 cup roughly chopped basil
2 tb. Unsalted butter, softened
2tb. Grated Parmesan cheese
1 tb. Olive oil
1 tb. Garlic
1/4 tsp. Each kosher salt and black pepper
1/2 small baguette, halved lengthwise
Preheat broiler with oven rack 6 inches from the element.
Puree basil, butter, Parmesan, oil, garlic, salt and pepper in a mini food processor until smooth..
Spread basil mixture over cut sides of bread, then broil on a baking sheet until edges are golden, about 3 minutes.
