We have served this salad at our Thanksgiving or Christmas meal for as long as I can remember. It is very good, even if it is a congealed salad!! I eat the leftovers for lunch on its own, it is that good.
6 ounce package strawberry gelatin powder
2 cups hot water
15 ounces cranberry sauce whole
8 ounces applesauce
8 ounces crushed pineapple undrained
1 cup pecans chopped
Yields: 12 Servings
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the jello in the hot water. Stirring until completely dissolved. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well.
Leaving the mixture in the bowl, refrigerate the bowl and stir the mixture occasionally as it chills to keep it from settling.
When the jello reaches a thick consistency, pour it into a large jello mold or 9 x 12 casserole dish. Cover and refrigerate until firm.
